If you haven’t already heard (or felt it!), there’s a heatwave making its way across the country. While it seems impossible to think about crafting an eye-catching outfit when it’s absolutely scorching outside, celebrities on Instagram this week were giving sartorial inspiration to help us get through these trying times.
Some, like Rosalía and Kelsey Lu, completely redefined the standard summer wardrobe. The former posed in a bright red sweatsuit and some super chunky raver shoes, while Lu brought wonderfully strange touches to a classic New England wardrobe (she wore a floral caftan with an orchid in her hair and some lace gloves while in Martha’s Vineyard this week). Others pushed the envelope even more: model Dara Allen paired a tank top and bright purple shorts with a cape that basically looked like a big paisley blanket, and musician Mykki Blanco added some texture to his canary yellow corset with ruched, gray pants. It’s for sure not a color or fabric one would reach for in the dog days of summer, and that made Blanco’s outfit all the more cool.
